There are barely any cooking utensils like pots or pans and if you don't wash up your dishes after yourself they will lock stuff away which is not fair at all towards people who do clean up after themselves.

I have also been trying to get my PayG slip and have mailed the hostel for the contact of the farms various times from different e-mails and no answer. I suppose since I am no longer a source for his income he doesn't care anymore. I have still yet to find contact info for the farmers. I'm not sure they can use a computer either way.

I can't tell you what it is like to stay there because I got refused. I got told I wasn't a backpacker because I had a car. The person I spoke to was extremely rude and nasty. Having stayed in backpackers in at least 50 countries it was my worst experience I have ever had. It is not a backpackers it is accommodation for casual agri-workers and I am guessing mainly young female ones. I would suggest staying at a pub in town!!

The only positive thing I can mention is that the place is clean and you get transportation to and from work. Otherwise it's not worth your money!

It all depends on the farm they put you on. There are farms that work 30h/week and if you're not the greatest saver you'll find yourself just about breaking even after expenses.

The showers in the rooms are so weak and the shower heads sprinkle barely any water on you which sucks after a hard day of farm work when you just want to have a good shower.

The kitchen/dining area is fine except there's only one stove for 80+ people, and they close it at 9pm with your food in the fridges, and it's gross in the mornings since there's been 80+ people cooking last evening.

If you want to save money while working here it is almost impossible unless you get a by the hour job. If you have these jobs then you better be quite awesome at it because the farmers are like most aussies and assholes. I suppose is understandable since we are just hire foreign workers.

Way way to expensive. You pay over 200 dollars a week for a six bed dorm, have to pay a deposit on dishes, have to pay for laundry and wifi AND air conditioning / heating.

The people however are quite nice who stay here...as always full of germans...................................................But this review will not matter since there is a monopoly.

205$ rent is a bit high since the only thing included is rides to work, you'll have to pay extra for aircon and laundry.

anyways.... If you are going to stay here work by the hour. Many people have not eaten anything but plain noodles for days and not all of them were even drinking the little money they saved away.

You pay 220 a week and if you want aircon it works on 2$coins and if you want wifi or internet in general it also works on 2$ coins. I was however paid back for a small % of the week that I did not stay though I was short changed once I did the math....so you are isolated from the cities and the world and paying more than you do in Brisbane for a room and on top of that you have to pay 2$ for 20mins of net....oh and you HAVE to stay here for the jobs and if you lose your job you are booted from the hostel.

There is no living room or place to unwind and relax, if you're not at work there is nothing you can do but lay in your bed.

That's if you don't get fired after your first day or week(a lot of people do). Mostly because you're too slow for the farmers who expect you to be a professional on your first day. The farmers also rarely have any respect towards their employees. Also if the hostel managers don't like you, you might find yourself "fired" without a reason. One girl from my room thought she was working the next day but instead the managers woke her up at 7am and said she'd had to be out of the hostel by 9am.
